For those who would like to know a little more about me, my name is Katharine, although most people call me Kate. I was born in Cape Town and grew up in the beautiful English countryside near the historic town of Sherborne in Dorset. My passion for photography started from an early age and eventually led me to complete a BA (Hons) Degree in Photojournalism in the United Kingdom.
After graduating, I spent several years travelling and working alongside established photographers, gaining invaluable experience across a variety of photographic disciplines. Those years not only strengthened my technical skills but also taught me the importance of making people feel comfortable in front of the camera. It was this experience that gave me the confidence to establish Katharine Linder Photography.
Today, with over 15 years of professional experience, I specialise in creating timeless, natural photographs that capture genuine moments and authentic personalities. Whether I’m photographing a business professional, a growing family, a wedding celebration or a corporate event, my goal is always the same: to create beautiful images that my clients will be proud to display and treasure for years to come.
I have had the privilege of working with many large corporations throughout Cape Town, providing professional headshots, personal branding photography and corporate event coverage. At the same time, I love the more personal side of photography—capturing weddings, family portraits and life’s special milestones. Every client and every session is unique, and I enjoy getting to know the people behind each photograph.
I believe that a great photograph starts with making you feel relaxed. Many people tell me they’re nervous about being photographed, but my sessions are friendly, unhurried and enjoyable. Whether you’re visiting my studio in Claremont or meeting me at a beautiful outdoor location, I’ll guide you throughout the session so you can simply enjoy the experience.
